Guadalajara
  • Guadalajara is the capital and most populous city of the state of Jalisco. It is located in the west, in the center of Jalisco in the region known as Valle de Atemajac.
  • It is the second most populated city in the country with 5,354,134 inhabitants and forms part of the Guadalajara metropolitan area. Along with another seven municipalities it is the second largest urban area in Mexico and the tenth largest in Latin America.
  • The city is home to the primary exhibition space in the state, the largest in Mexico, and the biggest in Latin America: Expo Guadalajara, with 119,419 square meters of construction and the capacity to receive up to fifty thousand people at any one time.
  • Guadalajara is considered one of the biggest urban areas in the country in terms of size, with 699 square kilometers, along with Mexico City, Monterrey, Puebla, and León. It is the third most important economic hub in the country, with a GDP of 77,400 million dollars in 2012, and the eleventh in Latin America.
  • Classed as a gamma city since 2010, it is one of the 120 most competitive cities in the world.
  • The city's economy is based on industry, especially information technology, with a large number of companies with manufacturing installations in the Guadalajara metro area. It also has local industries, such as shoes, textiles, and processed foods.
